A few blocks away, Seed Spot operates out of Midtown and serves as a launchpad for social entrepreneurs trying to solve local problems — housing, food access, workforce gaps. Their programming isn't just for startup types. If you're working on something community-facing, or just want to be around people who are, it's worth knowing they exist. The Heard Museum on Monte Vista Road is one of the most important civic institutions in the state, not just a cultural one. Its programming around Indigenous art, history, and sovereignty makes it a place where Phoenix confronts real history. And then there's the Midtown neighborhood association network itself — specifically the Midtown Alliance of Neighbors, which has been one of the more active neighborhood coalitions in the city on zoning, transit, and street safety issues.
