Pinnacle Brewing Company to Bring Award-Winning Beer to Downtown Mesa

2025 Brewery of the Year announces expansion plan with second location coming in 2027. 

The past two years have belonged to Pinnacle Brewing Company.  

Co-owners Mary and Bob Wilson opened the brewery in North Scottsdale in May of 2024 and have since captured awards and a loyal fan-following.   They just signed a lease to open a second taproom location on the corner of MacDonald and Main Street in downtown Mesa.  

“This next step is a direct result of the support we’ve received from our customers,” Mary Wilson said in a press release.  

“We’ve always believed in creating  a space where great beer and community come together,” says Bob Wilson, “and we’re excited to bring that same energy to downtown Mesa.” 

Pinnacle will move into suite 101 at 104 W. Main Street, formerly occupied by The Boutique clothing store. All brewing operations will remain in Scottsdale, and the Mesa taproom will have a food program to be announced at a later date. Pinnacle partners with Beerded BBQ for food seven days a week at the Scottsdale brewery. 

The Wilsons’ whiz-kid son, Wyatt, heads up the brewing operations and has already put his stamp on the beer world, winning several awards, including:  

• 2025 Brewery of the Year at the Arizona Craft Beer Awards 

• ACBA gold medal wins for Trida 11 Czech amber lager, Ludwig marzen, Viktoria 12 Czech pilsner and Seeing Dubbel Belgian dubbel.

• Ludwig also won a bronze at Great American Beer Fest 

• Novo 11 Czech dark lager won gold from USA Beer Ratings 

• Druid Where’s My Car stout won gold at the Arizona Craft Beer Awards in 2024 and a silver at the 2025 London Beer Competition 

• three other Pinnacle Beers captured bronze medals at the 2025 London Beer Competition. 

“Mesa has an incredible energy right now,” Wyatt Wilson says. “We’re looking forward to becoming part of that and contributing to the local community.” 

Pinnacle adds to the downtown Mesa beer scene that has blown up in the past decade. Chupacabra Taproom, Phantom Fox Beer Co., Pedal Haus Brewery and 12 West Brewing already make a solid lineup for a beer crawl. Adding Pinnacle to the mix makes Mesa perhaps the Valley’s premier destination for craft beer.
