Most business owners already know what they want to say. The hard part is organizing it, writing it clearly, and finding the time.
Turn Your Expertise into a Clear, Professional Chamber Blog Post — Without Starting from Scratch
A step-by-step, fill-in-the-blanks guide you will later upload into your favorite AI.
How This Workbook Works
This workbook walks you through a practical framework the ACT Committee developed to create a Chamber-ready blog post. You will NOT need to write the final blog yourself. Instead, you will:
1) Fill in the sections below with short answers or bullet points.
2) Save this file.
3) Upload it into your preferred AI tool.
4) Use the provided magic words to generate a polished final post.
The goal is not to replace your voice, but to help organize and communicate your expertise more efficiently.
Step 1: Who Is This For?
Audience (examples: small business owners, nonprofits, executives):
What they care about or struggle with:
Step 2: What Is the Core Idea?
In one or two sentences, what is this post really about?
Step 3: Why This Matters to Peoria Chamber of Commerce Members
List 2–4 reasons this topic is useful or relevant for Chamber members:
Step 4: Tone Direction (Required)
Complete this sentence:
The tone of this blog post should be:
Examples (type one or more):
- Educational
- Approachable
- Practical
- Reassuring
- Friendly but professional
- Calm and confidence‑building
- Other: ______________________
Avoid language like sales copy, hype, jargon, or fear messaging.
Step 5: Optional Call to Action
If included, what should readers be invited to do?
Step 6: Upload This Workbook into Your AI
- Save this file once completed.
- Open your preferred AI tool.
- Upload this document.
- Copy and paste ONE prompt below.
The Magic Words (Copy One)
Copy and paste this exactly after you upload the document to your AI of choice:
“Using ONLY the information provided in Steps 1–6, create a concise PCC-style blog post focused on the user’s selected topic and audience. Do NOT write about this workbook, the ACT Committee process, or AI”
Have fun trying other options after your AI completes the initial version:
MAKE IT SHORTER:
” “Using ONLY the information provided in Steps 1–6, rewrite this as a concise PCC blog post under 600 words.”
MAKE IT FRIENDLIER:
“Using ONLY the information provided in Steps 1–6, rewrite this in a warmer, more conversational tone appropriate for Chamber members.”
MAKE IT DIFFERENT:
“Using ONLY the information provided in Steps 1–6, rewrite this using a different structure or opening perspective while keeping the focus on the selected topic and audience.”
You Are Still in Control
AI is doing the drafting. You decide what stays, what changes, and what gets published.
Final Step: What to Do After AI Gives You a Good Draft
Once your AI produces a version you like, your job is not finished — it’s simplified.
Follow these steps to turn it into a real, publish‑ready piece.
Step 7: Review It Like a Human (2–5 minutes)
Before copying anything, quickly read through and ask:
- Does this sound like me (or my organization)?
- Is anything unclear, exaggerated, or unnecessary?
- Would I say this out loud to a PCC member?
If something feels “off,” don’t fix it yourself — tell the AI.
Magic words:
“Revise this to sound more like something I would actually say.”
Step 8: Make Final Adjustments (Optional but Easy)
You can fine‑tune without rewriting anything.
Try ONE of these if needed:
- Too long?
“Tighten this and remove anything repetitive.”
- Too stiff?
“Make this more conversational while staying professional.”
- Too generic?
“Make this more specific to PCC members and small businesses.”
- Almost right, but not quite?
“Revise this again using a slightly different angle.”
You are allowed to retry.
AI does not get annoyed. Humans do — so let AI do the revisions.
Step 9: Copy the Final Version into the Real World
Once you’re happy:
- Select the final version in your AI tool
- Copy it
- Paste it into where it needs to live:
- PCC blog submission
- Email newsletter draft
- Website CMS
- Document for approval or review
At this point, AI is done.
You’re back in full control.
Step 10: Save the Good Stuff
Two smart things to save:
The final text
The original filled‑out workbook
That workbook can be reused:
- for another blog post
- for an email
- for a different audience
- with one sentence:
“Use this same context to create something new.”
A Reassuring Truth (This Belongs in the Workbook)
If you can read it, judge it, and approve it, you didn’t give your work to AI —
you used AI as a drafting assistant.
That’s the goal.
