Happy Hour Worth Leaving Work Early For
by Savvy Sipper
The Valley has some outstanding happy hours. Here are the ones that change the math.
Phoenix's sprawl means happy hour requires commitment — you have to decide in advance where you're going and leave early enough to get there. The math only works when the destination earns it.
Postino Wine Cafe's happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 11am to 5pm, which makes it the most accessible of any notable bar in the Valley. Bruschetta boards and half-price wines are a reliable combination.
The Arrogant Butcher's happy hour runs until 6:30pm on weekdays — a useful buffer for anyone coming from the suburbs. The $8 cocktails include actual craft options.
Worth seeking out: The Vig in Arcadia has a daily happy hour where the food specials outperform the drink specials. The burger and fries combination represents one of the better price-to-quality ratios in the city.
For whiskey: Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour on Central Avenue runs happy hour promotions on barrel-aged cocktails worth planning around.
