Tucson in a Day: What Phoenix Locals Should Know

Tucson sits 110 miles south of Phoenix on Interstate 10 — a ninety-minute drive through some of the most visually striking Sonoran Desert terrain in the state. Phoenix locals often underestimate what Tucson offers specifically because of its proximity. The two cities are different enough that the drive earns itself. Tucson's food culture is more authentically connected to Mexican culinary traditions than Phoenix's, reflecting a different demographic history and a closer relationship to the border.
