4 Concerts to Check Out This Week (June 9-14)

Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week, we feature a chance to catch two influential bands from the 1980s. 

June 13
The Human League 

Perhaps best known for its hit “Don’t You Want Me,” The Human League has left a larger footprint on music than you may realize. The synth-pop pioneers have influenced everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Gorillaz. Former Yaz vocalist Alison Moyet and Soft Cell will open. 6:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. June 13
Ed Sheeran 

The “Shape of You” singer has been hinting that he might dip his toes into country music. He even moved to Nashville to immerse himself in the genre where it began. But before he starts learning how to play the slide guitar, Sheeran does have an ambitious world tour to get through first. The Church

June 14
Louis Tomlinson  

According to a recent article in Billboard, it could be argued that Louis Tomlinson was the George Harrison of One Direction. Much like his Beatles counterpart, Tomlinson was responsible for some of the boy band’s biggest hits, yet he never seemed to get the respect he deserved. Now he’s proven his detractors wrong with his anthemic hit “Lemonade” as well as a huge arena tour in support of his latest solo effort, How Did I Get Here? 7 p.m. Check website for ticket prices.
